Crispy Baked Tofu
Simple Vegetarian Vegan delight!

SERVES      : 4-6
PREP TIME  :  10 MINUTES
COOK TIME :  30- 40 MINUTES

Serve this tasty bake with brown rice, millet of any other grain and some steamed vegetables or salad.

 

Ingredients

 

  • 450g ( 1lb ) firm tofu ( ideally GM free so it is not supporting genetically modified farming )

  • 3-4 desert spoons sunflower oil or sesame oil or a mix

  • 2-3 tablespoons tamari or good quality soya sauce

  • thumb size piece of grated ginger

 

 

Method

 

  • Preheat the oven to 190 degrees/375 F/ Gas mark 5/6.  Slice the tofu into 8 or 12 pieces about 1/2 inch thick.

  • Mix the oil, tamari and grated ginger

  • Place the tofu pieces in a baking dish and pour over the sauce.

  • Bake in the oven for 20-30 mins or until the tofu is lightly roasted and slightly crispy.
