There are often other Sivananda trained teachers covering classes. This is always nice as each teacher brings their own energy and ideas to their teaching style which may highlight different areas of the practise for the students.

Do have a look at our other teachers' profiles below.

Marta

Marta has been practising yoga for over 10 years and completed her teachers training course in 2010 in North India. She has a great understanding and sensitivity towards the body and energy as she is a trained dancer as well as a wonderful Thai yoga massage practitioner. She is keen on the notion that yoga is an inclusive practice and can be practised by everyone.  Sarah also works as an IT teacher and Life Coach and is passionate about education, loves music and dances when no-one is looking!

Prema

Prema - Prema was gifted this name on completing her Sivananda Teachers Training in Rudraprayag, India in 2018. Prema grew up in New Zealand where she started her yoga journey as a child attending classes in the local community centre with her mother back in the ‘70s. After working in the NHS for 18 years and completing a Masters in Healthcare Leadership, she reconnected with yoga in her local London community at the Light Yoga Space in De Beauvoir Road where her love for yoga was rekindled, nourished and encouraged.

As a youth Prema travelled extensively before settling down to engage in academia, completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Philosophy and Women’s Studies followed by a 4-year degree program to become a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. In 2000, she left New Zealand to travel once again and ended up in London. In 2016, Prema commenced her transition to a yogic centered life; she now spends her time between Spain, London and New Zealand teaching yoga and supporting retreats at Casa Santosha.

Prema has many loves; satsang, chanting, solitude, meditation, walking adventures, her gorgeous black pug and seeing people relax and blossom as they embrace their yoga journey.

Having left London to travel India and Asia in 2009, she took the opportunity to complete the teacher training course in Uttar Kashi, in the Himalayas, thus fulfilling her dream to teach yoga and share the benefits with others leading busy and often stressful lives back home.

Harriet has been teaching ever since. A sensitive and gentle teacher, Harriet helps her students focus on the here and now, relaxing body and mind while they actively stimulate their body's inherent well-being. Harriet completed additional Pregnancy Yoga training in Austria in 2012 and will complete training and start teaching yoga for children in 2015. She also works as a translator (recently translating the 'Yoga for a relaxed pregnancy' book, the guide to Ayurveda and Sivananda yoga for pregnancy) and makes children's clothes when not looking after her young son.
